How to get away with Genocide

Why does genocide happen? Why does it go unpunished in so many cases? And why are politicians - in certain cases - so scared to use this word?

We often hear people say: “Never again.” However, genocides are still happening across the world at this very moment. During this event, we will discuss the question: ‘How to get away with genocide?’ Professor of Public International Law Marcel Brus will define the concept of genocide, and discuss the reactions to genocides from the perspective of international law.

Joyce Man works as a senior policy advisor for Amnesty International in the Netherlands, and part of her specialization is Israel and occupied Palestinian territory.

Director of organization Plant een Olijfboom, Esther van der Most, will talk about practical ways to resist colonization and genocide as a grassroots organization, and as an individual.

Afterwards there will be time for a Q&A, where you can ask your own questions or share your own thoughts.

When? Monday 28 April at 20.30.
Where? In the Usva Theatre, Munnekeholm 10.
